US Citizen, EAD or Green Card Preferred
The Senior Data Modeler will be responsible for tasks that support initially building and on-going development of a data warehouse and related data marts for BI reporting in the Healthcare Insurance industry.
Required Skills:
• 7 years in Information Technology with expertise in Data Modelling for Data Warehouse/Data Mart development, Data Analysis for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Data Warehousing (OLAP)/Business Intelligence (BI) applications. This would include:
o Third-Normal Form data models
o Data Marts, Subject Area, or Functional Area models
o Star and Snowflake schemas
o Fact and Dimension tables
• Knowledge and experience in process improvement, normalization/de-normalization, data extraction, data cleansing, and data manipulation.
• Experience with overall SDLC including requirements gathering, development, testing, debugging, deployment, documentation, and production support.
• Experience facilitating requirements meetings with business and technical stakeholders to resolve conflicts and drive decisions.
• Experience implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions (Type I, II, and III).
• Experience and best practices with Metadata management. This Includes developing, documenting, and maintaining logical and physical models in compliance with enterprise standards and project metadata definitions within the metadata repository.
• Ability to learn and use new applications within a minimal possible time.
• Documentation and technical specifications using MSWord, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• 7 years of interaction experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server etc.) SQL, PL/SQL, and Transactional SQL (T-SQL)
• 7 years of experience of strong technical writing experience creating detailed data modeling designs
• Provide leadership, guidance, best practices, and recommendations based upon actual experience
• The ability to work independently and prioritize assigned tasks based on project demands
Desired Skills:
• Experience with developing and configuring centralized Business Rules and Decision Trees. Knowledge of Oracle Business Rules would be a plus.
• Experience with Oracle SQL Developer tool
• Experience with Oracle Data Modeler tool
• Experience working in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• General ETL concepts, processing, and functionality including
 slowly changing dimensions
 process flows
 data flows
 source-to-target mappings
• Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) processes in Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience in extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from spreadsheets, databases tables, and other sources using Oracle Streams, SSIS, and Informatica.
• Experience working in the Insurance or Healthcare industry
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
