Title: Refrigeration Lead – Full Time – Sanford, NC 27332

Position Description:

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Coordinate PM schedule with Maintenance Planner for the refrigeration department.

Assist in maintaining the PSM program for the facility.

Perform repairs on various equipment within the facility both production and non-production related.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns

Complete assigned work orders and document in the SAP maintenance system

Conduct preventive maintenance inspections as assigned

Be able to be lock out/tag out certified, confined space certified, fall protection certified, and forklift certified

Be able to weld, and fabricate as needed

Monitor the ammonia system to ensure proper functioning

Must be part of the HAZMAT team and be able to pass the Respirator Level 4 physical on an annual basis

Must be able to complete Level 1 Operator training

Must have PSM experience

Must currently hold an L4 or higher position.


Significant Work Site Measurements:

Hours worked: Eight (8) hours per day; some six (6) or seven (7) day work weeks

Breaks: Two (2) twenty (20) minute paid breaks per shift

Work Environment: Warm temperatures ranging 65-90 degrees, wet/ and or humid conditions, adequate lighting, slippery floors in areas, concrete floors, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise level loud requiring hearing protection. Required to work on the roof which requires climbing of ladders and steps.
