Schedule: Evening shift, 3:00PM-11:30PM with rotating weekend coverage

Hospital: Ascension St. Agnes

Location: Baltimore, MD


Certified / licensed and experienced pharmacy technician

Must have strong leadership and communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to train others.

Offer guidance and supervision to the more junior technicians, while assisting others with automation and IT concerns.

The ideal applicant will have an advanced degree and several years of experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic that dispenses a high volume of medication.

You must also be very familiar with the regulations and compliance issues that govern pharmaceutics.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced pharmacy technician duties and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.


Acquire clinical data to support Pharmacists. Coordinate special projects.

Responsible for auditing, quality assurance sign off with barcode scanning, controlled substanceoversight, and billing including, Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication.

Serve as a resource for automation technology, training & involvement with IV workflow, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics.

Provide advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail.

May monitor compliance with regulatory standards and be responsible for inventory and drug shortage management and optimization.


Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:


One or more of the following required:

Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


Education:


High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
