**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. - Technology Services Group (TSG) is seeking a Database Administrator in Roanoke, VA. You will be responsible for researching, implementing, and maintaining information technologies to increase database systems operational efficiencies and secure Carilion’s enterprise network. Additionally, you will assist the Data Operations team daily with corporate problem resolutions supporting server system hardware/software issues.  The work environment includes hospital areas, TSG Datacenters, data closets and office settings.  
Duties and Responsibilities include: 

*Implement and maintain security technologies for all database platforms throughout the enterprise. *Interface with clients, vendors, and other teams on multi-faceted projects involving database platform technologies. *Analyze, optimize, implement, and maintain the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. database platforms with moderate supervision from supervisor and/or manager. *Perform cross-platform referential integrity and monitor/manage database indexes to enhance database performance. *Develop reference materials (database schema diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported database technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.

Education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Minimum two years’ experience in computer electronics and/or system administration of Windows, *nix platforms, or database platforms.

 

Microsoft SQL, Oracle, or Intersystems Cache experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:
 

Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.

               

A minimum of one of the following certifications are required:

 

CompTIA Server+

Microsoft MCSA (SQL 2008 or newer)

Epic Operational Database Administrator

Epic Clarity ETL Administrator

Oracle Certified Associate (10g or newer)

 

Additionally, any of the following are preferred, but not required:

 

Microsoft MCSE

Oracle Certified Professional (10g or newer)

CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Security+

Other Minimum Qualifications:
Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral).  Must have thorough understanding of the 7-layer OSI model.  IBM AIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, IBM TSM/TDP, SQL optimization experience preferred.  Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.OUR VALUES
