Assistant General Counsel
The candidate will be providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to the GC/COO and other executives on a variety of topics that relate merchant funding, and associated products and services. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements. Handling and mitigating legal risks by crafting and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business. Promoting legal, compliance and risk management standard methodology throughout the company. Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors. Designing and delivering legal training to sales teams, and processors. Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect business and specific industry. Collaborating closely with senior members of staff. Must have JD degree. Must be technologically savvy; comfortable with Google Sheets, Microsoft Office, etc. Relationship management or account management experience a plus. Understanding of small businesses, and various types of private business financing desired.
