The Air Capacity Sales Specialist I develops and manages master schedules to ensure maximum utilization of resources for the air, ocean, or ground line haul function.  Schedules, monitors and coordinate the flow of shipments within, or between service centers and recommends adjustments to capacity limits to assure consistency with master schedule.  Tasks & Accountabilities Analyzes and provides operational input to support scheduling and transportation procurement efforts. Develops, analyzes, anddistributes air, ocean, or ground schedules; identifies scheduling problems/opportunities, and recommends appropriate actions. Servesas liaison with the field organization on schedule related issues. Publishes and distributes schedules for internal and external use.Analyzes load trends for network operations and recommends capacity changes as necessary. Obtains and reviews purchased transportvolumes and recommends service improvements and/or cost reductions through network capacity changes as appropriate. Negotiates withvendors for contracted air, ocean, or ground transportation services. Monitors and analyzes contracted transport operations andrecommends operator and capacity changes as appropriate. May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experiencedcapacity planning professionals. Autonomy  Independently performs assignments to achieve stated objective. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues. Impact  May be responsible for entire projects or functions having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact to department, area, and, at times, business unit results. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve objectives would typically result in noticeable program delays and considerable expenditure of resources to rectify. Knowledge Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments. Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) doing individual contributor work. May provide input in development of operating plans/budgets. People Management May oversee the completion of projects or assignments, including; planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. May contribute to employees' professional development. Problem Complexity Performs advanced level professional work. Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.    Skills & Qualifications Experienced Professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field. Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 5-8 years of experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field.
