Director of Enterprise Data Analytics and Visualization

Summary:

Reporting directly to the VP of IT Insights As A Service this role will help build out the Analytics strategy with responsibility for data visualization, data modeling and end user experience for Tyson Foods enabling Tyson employee partners and customer better access to tools and data. With an analytics first goal this role will help develop the analytics strategy and business framework to enable this for custom and off the shelf solutions. Evolving Tyson Foods skill profile will be required as this capability matures as the strategy moves towards a cloud native modern data platform. This strategy should be broader than just reports and dashboards and should align with Tyson s analytics first strategy to enable our business with data driven decision making. Rich history of building strong end user experiences in analytics products with a strong focus on driving business outcomes through data. This role must have a strong technical background in data and data systems to ensure robust, flexible and scalable systems.

Responsibilities: The business impact for this effort will include:


Executives through knowledge workers consume data to run Tyson Foods on a daily basis and this roll will be directly support them.
Born digital refit processes to reduce waste and unnecessary manual processing to enable better decision support
Executive and operational access to analytics and data trends to assess daily trends impacting business activity as well as drill down capabilities to understand root cause and predictive warnings.


This organization’s capabilities must include: Technical excellence - this organization should be known for the ability to learn and adopt new technologies rapidly with the ability to understand where it fits within the Tyson architecture principles. Operational excellence - by developing an implementation framework for new technologies this role needs to understand the strengths and weaknesses of Tyson’s current ecosystem and build in ways to make support and adoption easier quicker. This would include CI CD and DevOps pipelines. Cost effective and reusability - this organization should develop reusable components and standards as well as understand the Open Source community for mobile solutions. Process delivery excellence - developing strong processes around the evaluation of new technologies and assessing the fit will require a disciplined approach to getting results and outcome that matter. This will require a fail fast mentality to move quickly to mature the technology in the Tyson ecosystem. Curiosity beyond limits should be ingrained in the full team where this team is constantly seeking new opportunities for Tyson to win in the marketplace through technology. This is the team that would need to keep the tension around exploration and execution.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical field required advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 10 plus years of experience working in a large global organization developing and managing technology-based programs. Experience working with geographically dispersed team’s customer base is desirable.

Computer Skills: 5-7 implementation experiences with data warehousing, data visualization and dimensional data modeling.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication relationship and interpersonal skills with the ability to tell the story of the new technology. This includes a strong ability to communicate with IT users and business leaders to understand requirements expectations and value measures.

Special Skills: Strong technical acumen with the ability to communicate with non-technical business users.
