General Counsel
The candidate, reporting directly to the President and CEO, will provide legal support and advice to firm including with respect to contract terms and negotiations, intellectual property, personnel, immigration, non-profit tax law, antitrust and political law. Partner with the legal and compliance teams of firm members on issues relating to membership in firm or participation in firm projects. Assist in issues regarding firm corporate governance including by attending firm Board of Directors meetings, advising the Board, drafting Resolutions, and working with the Board Secretary to maintain Board records. Assist in the on-going review of firm operational risk and advise regarding practices to mitigate risk. Should be a graduate degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice. Must have 6+ years of legal experience including work in a law firm advising non-profit or trade association clients and/or in-house legal work for a non-profit or trade association. International experience would be valuable in helping to prepare a candidate for firm’s global mission.
