Summary:

This position provides translation and interpreting services throughout the plant and the community.

Duties/Responsibilities :

Must be able to interpret for any team members who are non- English speaking. Ability to interpret documents accurately from English to Burmese or Burmese to English. Must be able to assist the Health Service staff with physicals and doctor appointments including interpretation for any non-English-speaking team members at the doctor’s office. Must be able to drive to attend outside appointments to interpret for team members and to attend community events and other outside appointments and activities. M ust be able and willing to interpret for large meetings and groups throughout the plant. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and able and willing to keep conversations confidential. Must be able to work with little to no direct supervision. Basic PC skills preferred, primarily Microsoft Windows, MS Excel Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office programs. Must be capable of communicating well verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management and government officials. Position requires strong customer service, organizational and human relation skills. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid driver license and the ability to drive a company vehicle. Preference given to trilingual applicant. Qualified candidate must be willing to become a certified interpreter with a passing score of 90% or higher. Preference given to applicants who are already certified and those with prior office procedure experience and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
