These are full-time (direct hire) positions with a growing company offering competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for career growth. We are in need of experienced developers with core Java and strong backend development skills (MS SQL Server).
Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing core and web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research and investigation. Writes SQL stored procedures as well as Java.
Collaborates with business partners and development team members to achieve business results. Analyzes business requirements and provides feedback to business on development projects.
Builds Java programs, batch jobs, and related SQL stored procedures that are consistent with the objective of stated development and business goals.
Maintains up to date understanding of SQL, Java technology and full life cycle development methodologies.
Creates test cases for ensuring programs meet stated business objectives. Performs testing on programs before moving into a production environment.
Works continually on improving performance of queries and source code performance using industry standard methodologies for SQL generation, data analysis and algorithm organization. Provides support for investigating and debugging production issues.
Ensures projects are completed in a timely manner, consistently achieving project deadlines.
Recommends new development strategies and procedure improvements to the development team.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required.
At least 4 years core Java programming experience (JSEE 1.4 or later).
4 years object oriented development including the implementation of classes with proper inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, interfaces.
Intermediate understanding of SQL (selects, inserts, joins, stored procedures, functions). At least 2 years experience writing embedded SQL or stored procedures.
2 years experience with Microsoft Source Safe, CVS, or Subversion.
Experience writing technical designs using Microsoft Word.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Skills desired:
Google Web Toolkit (GWT), JUnit testing framework, Enterprise Application Platform experience (JBoss/Seams, TC Server/Spring), Subversion code management, Eclipse IDE.
