We are looking for a Director of Shipping and Logistics to help streamline and create efficiencies by managing logistics tasks and leading a group of individuals to reduce costs and increase company profitability for our Marketplaces division from our Santa Monica office
A big vision calls for a big job.  As we grow, our need for a  Director of Shipping and Logistics grows with us.
A typical day as a
Director of Shipping and Logistics might include:
Understand and drive continuous improvements to the processes and output of master
resources planning, capacity management and advanced planning system to support
thousands of orders daily.
Analyze previous logistics data to improve current logistics processes
Provide input into the development, implementation, and/or execution of processes to control scheduling
Audit operations to ensure high service standards are being met
Motivate and train the operations team to achieve world class service.
Maintain close relationships with carriers and track and analyze transit times, rates and procedures.
Develop strategies to increase client satisfaction
Negotiate contracts skillfully
Design, develop, and manage software and physical systems to meeting shipping and tactical goals
Document local and international regulations, policies, insurance coverage and tariff rates
Use your analytical skills to reduce company downtime due to logistics issues, and escalate problems as required
You’ll be successful if you are highly skilled in creating efficiencies, providing world class service, dedicated to being a positive team leader and are highly knowledgeable in shipping, logistics, and supply chain management .
What You Have:
7 years of experience in shipping, logistics or supply chain management
5 years of successfully managing a team
Very strong analytical ability with experience managing with metrics.
Proven leadership ability to influence, motivate and collaborate across all functional teams
Are self-directed professional who knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of
urgency, focus and discipline.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business administration, or a related field
Performed and/or led continuous improvement projects in the area of Lean and/or Six Sigma.
Are highly organized and have proven methods of reporting and documentation
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large.
