Provides leadership in analyzing and collaborating on business opportunities and IT-based solutions for a business area that are projected to deliver significant business value and for initiatives that may require a change to IT&S infrastructure, current business/clinical processes or present significant technical or operational risk.  Works with other key project team members to define requirements, design the functional solution, identify and resolve project issues, and ensure the IT solution meets requirements. Provides recognized business knowledge and subject matter expertise in analyzing and collaborating on business opportunities and IT-based solutions for a specified business area. Supports business owners in all matters related to system enhancements or system issues and is considered to the IT&S liaison between development and business.
 
This position requires a background and operational experience in HealthCare Revenue Cycle IT Solutions, specifically this position much have sound knowledge / experience in Admissions and Billing. Specific experience and understanding of HCA’s Revenue Cycle applications (i.e. Patient Accounting) is recommended.

Serves in all aspects of a Business Analyst role supporting larger projects and some release work. More specifically:

Provides expertise in design and provides leadership in communicating requirements to product development, testing, and education/training.   
Creates deliverables independently and manages approvals.  Provides coaching, technical, functional guidance on specific project deliverables.  
Supports the roll-out of smaller projects and release work, including pilot training and initial field communication.
On a more day-to-day basis, creates a joint vision for IT solutions by maintaining strong relationships with business unit and Solution Leader. Has strong and diverse network of relationships with various stakeholder groups.  Identifies impact to other solutions or projects, and works with other BAs and stakeholders to identify options and recommendations.  
 
Provides operational support for application area of focus, supporting the business and other IT areas by providing status and recommending solutions when there are system issues and coordinating resolution of issues with CSS and development. Also included in the Operational Support category:

Supporting annual audit reviews (e.g. internal & external audit for application and change control, SAS70 reviews, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, etc)
Coordinating and assisting in prioritizing new enhancement requests through PWR reviews and Solution Team
Supporting and monitoring of SLA’s.
 
Support of regulatory initiatives, including all tasks associated with the primary responsibility listed above.
 
Administrative and “Below the Line” activities, including: staff meetings, paid time off, professional development, etc','!*!5-7 years of relevant experience. Use of or familiarity with HCA’s revenue cycle systems. College graduate preferred.
 
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Background and operational experience in  HCA Revenue Cycle systems is a must – specific skills in the Patient Access area a plus.
 
Other key qualifications include:

3-7 yrs. of experience on increasingly challenging projects in business, or systems analysis or systems development
Successful experiences creating requirements, data models, use cases, user interface designs, business process improvements
Thorough understanding of critical IT processes – project lifecycles & SDLC
Ability to communicate succinctly and in a variety of media
Strong collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills
Nice to have: Experience with IT&S case tools, product development or system testing.
