Position Description:
The Lead Software Engineer:
Analyzes, designs, develops, and debugs web applications and related products and systems.
Helps lead the software engineering function, including directing the activities of team members, coaching and mentoring less experienced engineering staff, and reporting project status and team performance to Information Services leadership.
Provides expertise in defining system requirements and impact, enhancing and maintaining system components and databases, setting up necessary development and test environments, developing project documents and communicating status to other team members, and interacting with internal and external customers to ensure the delivery of the product ** on time, within budget and with exceptional quality.

Experience:
Requirements:
10 years experience developing enterprise software applications.
5 years experience developing Microsoft ASP.NET applications.
3 years designing complex distributed systems.
2 years leading software development teams.
Expert knowledge of Visual Studio.
Experience with object-oriented programming.
Specific experience with Microsoft development tools.
Good knowledge of relational databases.
Proven experience with SQL.
Some experience with a scripting language such as classic ASP, Perl, or PHP.
Highly desirable:
Experience with Classic ASP.
Experience with Microsoft.NET technologies, including Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation and Windows Presentation Foundation.
Experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint system or Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Experience developing mobile applications using 5.
Experience working as part of a team using an Agile software development methodology such as SCRUM or XP.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.
Research, design and develop new features and feature enhancements for the software products.
2.
Work with project stakeholders to review requirements and technical specifications.
3.
Participate in design and code reviews with other developers.
4.
Take ownership of software components and modules from conception through deployment, setting up environments and documenting release notes and technical details regarding functionality and configuration.
5.
Participate and contribute in conceiving future technology and next generation products.
6.
Use an issue tracking system to document necessary code changes and follow standard versioning requirements using a source control system.
7.
Analyze problems and resolve technical issues regarding component functionality and customer enhancements.
Fix defects and recommend enhancements as appropriate.
8.
Provide technical consulting to internal and external customers to address system issues and recommend solutions.
9.
Create and maintain architectural standards and best practices.
Use these to design complex distributed information systems.
10.
Provide leadership, direction, mentoring and coaching to engineering staff.
11.
Develop project documents (such as delivery schedules and work breakdown structures) and communicate status to management and engineering staff.
12.
Help establish and improve software development processes and tools.
13.
Maintain knowledge of the latest computer technologies.
