The candidate will cover a wide range of areas in IP, including strategy and counseling, open source licensing, technology transactions, standards organizations, and M&A. Staff the IP function as part of the company M&A legal cross-functional team. Advise on patent, technology and open source transactions as an IP specialist. Interface with engineers and project managers on technical and open source issues. Must have JD degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar. Should have 3+ years of legal experience. Must have M&A transactional experience and general commercial/technology transactional experience at a law firm and/or in-house. Should have interest in and aptitude for understanding complex software and hardware engineering practices and systems. Product counseling experience (hardware and/or software) preferred.
