Sr. Database Development Engineer
We are looking for a talented Sr. Database Engineer to join our dynamic business focused on serving the needs of professionals using software as a service model. The responsibilities of this position will emphasize SQL Server design and development work. Candidates must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Our SDLC and toolset is agile and highly collaborative with industry leading practices such as wiki documentation, issue tracking and distributed version control systems. The successful candidate must enjoy learning and employing new technologies. This position is best suited for developers who want to work in a commercial SAAS product development environment.
Essential Functions: Perform analysis, design, implementation, debugging, tuning, and unit testing activities Interact with other project team members to provide preliminary and final estimates for project work. Work in a team of software and database engineers responsible for delivery of database/web based applications. Independent problem solving abilities are required. Perform analysis, design, implementation, debugging, tuning, and unit testing activities Interact with other project team members to provide preliminary and final estimates for the project work; reviews the work of other team members as needed Write clear specifications and to explain technical ideas and designs to peers and management. Develop solutions with other teams of application developers, testers, system administrators and program management. Must be able to follow defined software development lifecycle best practices. Manage work on an ongoing basis to ensure target, on-time delivery and provide continuous improvement and updates.
Required Skills: 8 years of experience using SQL Server or other relational database platform to create stored procedures, triggers and schema. Commitment to quality, customer service and teamwork. Experience working with high-availability/big data solutions including data warehousing, partitioning, clustering, mirroring Experience working with C#, SSIS, SSAS or other data warehousing technologies a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred.
