SUMMARY
Bering Straits Technical Services is seeking a skilled Ground Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that the grounds are maintained according to schedule of industrial, commercial property such as buildings, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields. The right candidate must also be responsible for ensuring that repairs of structures and equipment are completed in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise between 20-30 grounds maintenance union employees
Ensure all roads and grounds contract specifications, requirements, and schedules are met
Maintain up to date work schedules and service work orders
Provide daily quality control oversight
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Able to pass government background check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to perform tasks without supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to read, write, understand basic English
Preferred
Five (5) years’ experience supervising at least 25 employees
Associates degree or higher in Business Management
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. This position will also require working outside in possible inclement weather. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hires and supervises direct reports
Supervise 20-30 ground  maintenance union employees
Will maintain Union reprimand appendix’s and grievance files
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
