Research Systems Analyst II

Profile

The Research Systems Analyst II (RSA-II) assists in design, analysis, implementation and supports all research information systems and related applications. The scope of this position involves analyzing existing systems,
applications and processes and then formulating logic for new systems for the benefit of the Moffitt Research Institute.
The RSA-II is also responsible for provinding first and second level support for new and existing systems used by the Moffitt research staff. The RSA-II utilizes best practices throughout the project lifecycle to deliver systems / applications that meet business and technical requirements. This position is expected to provide expert knowledge of project management methodologies and documentation including; project request forms, project plans; status reporting; process flow diagrams, functional requirements, SOW's, GAP analysis, QA Test plans and others as needed.
Education
Bachelor's Degree. Field of study: Computer Science, business or healthcare related field
Training/Experience
Seven (7) years experience in information systems in the medical research industry may be substituted for a bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, business or health care related field.
Required:
Minimum four (4) years experience in all phases of the system development life cycle in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated, verifiable experience and skills: collaboration, flexibility, project/task ownership, system improvement, (computerized or manual), problem solving, project management, consultation and conflict management, organization and time management, attention to detail.
- Excellent communication: written, oral and presentation skills. Working proficiency with website navigation and Microsoft Office; i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project & Visio.
Preferred:
- Performance improvement / process management knowledge and experience.
- Prior experience with focus on medical research information systems development and implementation.
- Experience with LIMS / LIS / BioRepository software.
- Experience with Clinical Trials Management software and concepts
- Experience with Cancer Registry Sofitware and concepts
Additional Information
Essential Functions:
- Works across all IT Departments within Moffitt/M2Gen to support the initiatives of Moffitt and the Moffitt Research Institute
- Evaluates emerging technologies/software in the medical research industry for possible consideration and use within the organization
-Participates in change management and configuration procedures
- Creates and updates artifacts as part of Research IT's System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) where appropriate
- Participates in new initiative review and assists with developing appropriate systems, applications, and/or architecture and deployment plans
- Provides 1st and 2nd level support for all research related systems
