THE TEAM
Zuora’s TechOps teams are responsible for Data Center and Cloud infrastructures, monitoring performance and uptime, managing internal and external shared services, infrastructure services and more - for Zuora’s customer facing SaaS products and platforms. Our technologists sit across US, Beijing, India and remotely, using a follow-the-sun model to provide 24x7x365 coverage for critical functions and partner closely with our Engineering, Customer Support, Security, Global Services and Sales teams on a daily basis to keep our customers front and center.
YOUR MISSION:
Build the most scalable, robust and efficient SaaS billing infrastructure on the planet
THE OPPORTUNITY (AKA: Why you want this role over any other out there)
You will own the cloud infrastructure architecture to support the billing operations of some of the world’s largest global companies. With our transition to full cloud operations nearly complete, we now have the opportunity to step back and examine our end-to-end infrastructure—let’s leverage the latest in cloud-native architectural approaches and figure out how to get that in place. This is an incredible opportunity to push yourself technically and to develop your ability to lead an organization through change.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
Transition Zuora to a cloud-native architecture
Simplify our infrastructure—we support a small number of cloud services at incredible scale and we are darn good at it
Speed up innovation—production needs to be tight, but at the same time we need to allow engineering teams to experiment with new technologies and approaches to better serve our customers needs
Improve engineering efficiency—they are raving about what you have accomplished
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You know how to scale a cloud architecture and whilst you have done this a few times already, you are wise enough to know that context matters
You have deep experience with the core AWS offerings and wide experience with other AWS features
You are highly skilled at building relationships with engineering teams and shepherding architectural changes from inception to production implementation
Experience architecting a large-scale enterprise SaaS platform
Billing and/or ERP domain experience is highly desirable
