Web Application Architect

The Web Application Architect is principally responsible for the development and delivery of global reinsurance applications to an internal and external user base. Responsible for crafting architecturally sound solutions, delivering detailed technical design, development planning and implementation of new features for globally used applications specifically passionate about the broking and sales activities of Aon's Reinsurance Solutions business. Solution types include; greenfield cloud native solutions, cloud IaaS, hybrid, on-prem and cloud migrations.As the Web Application Architect some of your key responsibilities will involve:Architect, design and deliver high quality solutions aligned with business and IT objectives.Set standards and provide guidance to development teams around coding and testing practices ensuring success in delivering a quality product to users.Work alongside team leads during the development process to ensure project design is being followed and assist in solving issues facing the team.Work with product managers to modernize existing products to stay ahead of with technology standards, are performant and secure.Work with Product Managers, Project Managers, SCRUM Masters, and other leaders within the department to achieve project, product, departmental and company goals.Act as a go-to technical expert for products and services under your control.Ensure accurate monitoring, logging, load balancing, and redundancy is in place for highly available, fault tolerant services. ‘Educate and share knowledge with team members around cloud services & technology.QualificationsOver all 7 years of IT experienceDeep experience architecting system and software business solutionsDeep experience delivering complex web applications, services, and APIsExperience with delivering solutions hosted in Azure CloudExperience using Azure services such as AKS, App Service Plan, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Managed Identities.Experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experienceExperience with delivering internet (client) facing applicationsExperience in connected multi-regional distributed hosting environmentsExperience with Microsoft SQL Server databasesExperience with JavaScript based UI FrameworksFamiliarity with SAML/OAuthFamiliarity with application gateways, firewalls, WANs, express routeFamiliarity with Azure services such as Data Factory, Event Hub, Event Grid, Cosmos DBExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong time and project management and organization skillsProven resilience and maturity in resolving process and project issuesContinuous Integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) experienceExperience working in an agile software development environmentBachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical fieldHow we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
