The Psychiatric Observation Unit is designed to provide a safe environment to quickly and professionally assess psychiatric conditions, develop a rapid stabilization plan and then refer the patient to the most appropriate, least restrictive available level of care.
The Psychiatric Observation Unit is a 10 bed unit and will be opened 365 days a year, 24 hours daily.
The Psychiatric RN is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and is responsible for delivery of direct care to clients, individually, or in groups across the life span. The Psychiatric RN utilizes psychiatric/chemical dependency clinical skills as a first line direct patient care provider and as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Maine or licensed eligible to obtain - new grads welcome to apply. BLS Certification is a requirement for this position and will be offered during orientation. experience preferred. EOE
