General Counsel
The candidate would assume responsibility for providing advisement to our internal business teams on all legal matters, including regulatory compliance and managing and overseeing the activities of any inside/outside counsel resources. Additionally, will play a critical role in all facets of the company’s commercial contracting initiatives, with a primary focus on supporting the sales and business development activities. Must be able to evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action, anticipate issues, identify proactive solutions, and estimate risks strategically. Draft, negotiate and close business to business contracts, in support of ODE’s fast-moving sales and business development departments. Supervise and direct relevant staff and outside counsel. Research and respond to Sales team and customer inquiries concerning a broad variety of legal matters. Help architect ODE’s commercial contracts practice by assisting with the development of a comprehensive, long-term and scalable business minded approach to the contracting processes. Structure and maintain standard form contracts, and develop and maintain state-of-the-art online terms and policies (including privacy policies). Collaborate with the business units, information security teams, and other senior leaders on data privacy and other compliance related issues surrounding the use of consumer’s credit data (FCRA, GLBA). Advise on a wide range of complex legal matters across all aspects of the company’s operations, including, but not limited to, corporate law, litigation and employment-related matters. Retain and manage outside counsel resources, as necessary.
