This position will be serving as the shift leader for the plant ergonomics program. Safety is always FIRST with Tyson Foods and at Tyson, all Team Members are expected to practice safety standards, policies, and procedures. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Summary

This position will lead and participate in proactive measures designed to eliminate illness and repetitive motion exposures within the plant. The position will write work orders and distribute them to the appropriate maintenance staff and will follow work orders from inception to completion. The team member will perform various ergonomic audits and will enter information to tracking systems. This position is expected to communicate risks and exposures to hourly team members, as well as to all levels of management as necessary. The position will be responsible for sharing best practices with other plants, as well as implementing best practices within the plant.

This position requires facilitating ergonomic program awareness training at the hourly level, knife sharpness audits by operating the knife testing equipment, assisting the Assistant Hourly Trainers (AHT’s) with fitting new Team Members to the proper equipment, conduct job assessments using THS software, leading Ergo committee meetings, and other tasks as assigned.

This position requires daily interaction with Team Members in the Health Management Program (HMP). The position will investigate new illness cases to ensure effective root cause prevention was attained, and preventive measures are being followed on each shift.

Successful candidate must be willing to work in any area which could include, but not limited to slice, packaging, ground beef, palletizing, receiving, shipping, and maintenance.

Requirements

Applicant must have basic computer skills to include basic data entry to Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software. This position requires good communication skills, bilingual preferred, but not required.
