Job Description

This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor/trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Must be able to transport birds from farms to the plant in a safe efficient manner. Must be able to hang Cage Hooks and pull down 2600 binder and also unhook these items frequently. Must be able to climb, reach, bend, stoop, squat, & raise hand above the level of shoulders. Must be able to work and drive in all weather conditions.

Job Requirements

Must be at least (21) years of age with a current CDL Class A as well as an excellent driving record.

Must have one year of driving experience

Must have good verbal and written communication skills to understand highway traffic signs/ signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

Basic math skills are also required.

Must be familiar with DOT regulations.

Must be capable of performing all current DOT pre/post driving inspections.

Must be willing to perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
