Senior Counsel
The candidate will negotiate direct and indirect IT Procurement contracts, including hardware, enterprise software, connected vehicle, IoT, and emerging technologies. Act as primary legal contact regarding all Privacy matters, including drafting documentation, policies, procedures and agreements, procuring technology, and providing legal and strategic counsel to internal business, IT and technology partners. Use your expert knowledge of Cloud-based agreements (SaaS, PaaS, and Data agreements) to ensure has addressed SLA’s, DR Plans, uptime requirements, failover, and security. Advise on Open Source licensing, and advise and counsel business stakeholders on license requirements. Work on varied assignments in a nontraditional legal setting. Collaborate with the General Counsel and other legal team members on project-based legal assignments and initiatives, including strategic partner relationships. Provide support for litigation, dispute resolution and other matters as they arise. Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school, and an active member in good standing of Michigan or California Bar. At least ten (10) years of commercial transactions experience with focus in procurement of goods and services in the automotive industry or IT. Extensive Privacy experience required Ability to work effectively and calmly in a high-pressure environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are required. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and with internal and external business clients are required. Experience with connected vehicles desired but not required, Automotive experience preferred but not required
