Responsibilities: Will be to help build and maintain business-minded compliance mechanisms to support the Company’s accelerated growth plans, with a particular focus on compliance and regulatory policies and procedures to address advertising compliance, state educational licensing and financial product regulation across the Company’s businesses. As part of a small legal team supporting School, will operate (and should be excited by the prospect of operating) as a generalist, handling a wide range of other legal and business issues on a daily basis, including in the areas of contract negotiation, privacy and security, accessibility, M&A and employee/people issues. Participate in: Ensuring that the Company conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Providing advice and counsel regarding marketing/advertising programs, including the review of advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory laws, rules and regulations; Developing, implementing and overseeing corporate policies, procedures and programs; Serving as an efficient and high-performing member of the Company’s legal team, including coordinating directly with colleagues from the We Company’s legal team; Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts; Monitoring and advising on potential impacts of proposed changes to state, federal and international laws and regulations impacting the Company’s businesses; Working effectively with, and managing in a cost-conscious manner, outside counsel; Enabling the business to achieve its targets, while at all times respecting the Company’s principles and applicable laws, and assisting in embedding these principles into the Company’s processes and decisions.
