Senior Associate General Counsel
The candidate will be involved in all aspects of labor and employment matters including contracting, investigation, policy development and management. Will contribute to strategic vision and serve as a top-level legal expert. Responsibilities will also include handling complex, highly sensitive and specialized investigations and labor and employment related matters and coordinating such efforts with University leadership and legal counsel, representing the Office of Legal Affairs including applicable committee membership, advising organization policies and procedures by working with leaders, Human Resource leaders, and business unit policy coordinators on new and revised policies, procedures and other key initiatives. Will work closely with Center and HR leadership offering legal advice and counsel on compliance standards, governing documents, policies and procedures, legal issues and analysis, and the implementation of special projects, as assigned. Provides functional advice or training to other attorneys and staff. Works with College of Medicine and Health System faculty and administrators, as well as other officials. Education and Experience: A law degree and 10+ years legal experience is required. Must already have Ohio license or obtain license within 6 months. Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Familiarity with broad spectrum of corporate transactions, state and federal healthcare regulatory issues including reimbursement, Stark is preferred. Experience with structuring, negotiating and drafting healthcare arrangements is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
