Job Description
The Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist - will work at the Erlanger, KY Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.
Your Role:
As the CNC Machinist - horizontal boring mill you will:
Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
Set-up and operate CNC Lathe Tools
Read CNC programs, familiar with G & M codes.
Make minor edits to CNC programs.
Read and interpret Engineered Blueprint drawings.
Understand and apply geometric tolerances.
Set up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e., inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)
Machine to required tolerances of .001” - .005.”
Determine machining feeds and speeds and tool selections.
Work effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customer.
Basic Qualifications:
High school Diploma / GED
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness and able to work any shift and all overtime as scheduled.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. (We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.)
Desired Characteristics:
Minimum 5 years CNC Machining Experience preferred.
Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required.
Experience with GE Fanuc Controls.
Proven ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometry.
Ability and willingness to work multiple shift(s).
Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends, as required.
Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success.
Ability to work in a lean and fast-paced environment.
