Description:
The Network and Telecommunications Engineering team within the Global Systems Development department is responsible for strategy and design for client’s internal Network and Network Security systems with a heavy focus on security.　 The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for transforming business strategy into services and solutions that meet business needs and goals through Service Design and Service Transition.　
The Sr. Network Engineer plays a key role supporting the Network and Telecommunications Operations teams.　 Specifically, the role requires ensuring the service handoff to Operations is complete and providing tier three/four support for production systems.
Position Objectives:　
Design and standardize network security infrastructure to ensure conformance to compliance program requirements to include: SOX, PCI, FISMA, ISO 27001
Take ownership for understanding business processes that are supported by this same infrastructure.
Communicate efficiently and effectively with internal users on network and security concerns, issues, and events
Demonstrate an ability to understand, deploy, and use new technologies to meet business needs.
Manage infrastructure deployment and upgrade projects to meet the needs of the business, on-time.
Understand, and take ownership of, the impact of all system changes.
　
Essential duties:
　　　　
Design, document, and deploy network security infrastructure
Be a subject matter expert on network and network security areas for IT project teams
Work closely with IT Operations to develop strategies for continual service improvement
Follow departmental standard processes for design, development, testing, deployment and documentation of client’s network and infrastructure.
Work with Network and Telecommunications Operations Engineers on project transitions from design to operational support.
　
Required skills:　　
Ability to design and evangelize secure network solutions in a highly collaborative environment
In-depth technical experience and knowledge across a broad range of computing and networking platforms
Design and/or support experience with IPSec VPN, Juniper SSL VPN and user authentication platforms (AD/SecurID/Radius)
Applied experience with Checkpoint, Cisco PIX/ASA/FWSM, ipfilter firewall architectures and/or JunOS ACLs
Ability to recommend and configure secure design of multiple firewall types, including premise based and network based
Understanding and applied experience with Linux, Microsoft and Solaris operating system platforms
Experience and knowledge of modern encryption methods and implementation with web and internet based security systems
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex architecture
Desired skills:　
Experience with analysis of Intrusion Detection (Snort/Sourefire) and Firewall (numerous)
Applied knowledge of commercial Internet business-to-business and business-to-consumer security architecture models.
Ability to conduct internal and external audits, coordinating such with outside agencies to provide detailed reports on the results.
Experience and ability to conduct detailed forensic analysis of multiple devices and operating systems.
Experience with security concepts of virtualization systems and current storage techniques (SAN/NAS/iSCSI)
Historical experience with daily monitoring of vendor and other security alerts (CERT, CIAC, BugTraq)
　
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Certification or specialized training in the following areas desired: CISSP, CCNP/CCIE - Security, Checkpoint, GIAC, Citrix
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and 5 years of professional network security experience or at least 10 years of professional network security experience
