Asurion Mobile Applications a San Mateo (and also SF) based, nimble, semi-autonomous division of Asurion, a privately held multi-billion business services provider. We are looking for an experienced and accomplished Sr.Data Modeler to join our team as a full-time employee.
Asurion Mobile is at the cutting edge of technology in mobile applications and data services, providing millions of customers with complete protection of their personal mobile environments, including data (pictures, video, contacts and more), applications, and even the device itself. The division already has over 5 million subscribers and this opportunity will give the selected candidate the chance to claim that he/she has one of the most broadly distributed mobile applications in the industry. 95% of all insured cell phones in the US are insured by Asurion (but usually white labeled through the carrier).

Responsibilities
Analysis and design of data models at the conceptual, logical and physical levels for business intelligence projects involving reporting Data warehouse.
Analyze customer’s requirements, gaps and challenges, design and consolidate data model to meet both the business and technical requirements.
Working closely with architects and data modelers, produce kinds of data model deliverables in time with high quality.
Create source-to-target mapping document for data loads.
Working closely with onsite/overseas ETL and reporting engineers and provide consultation and support if needed.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, business analysts, data analysts and other data modelers to create data models that extend and attribute the current level of detail, along with accompanying documentation in conformance with the applicable data standards.
Assist in identifying, validating and documenting source system data issues, along with supporting triage of data defects found during test cycles.
Qualifications
5 years working experience is a must.
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science
Strong BI/DW domain knowledge and background
Hand-on data modeling experience in BI/DW projects
Strong data modeling concepts and design skills
Familiar with SQL and leading SQL databases.
Familiar with leading data modeling Tools
Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge of leading ETL & reporting tools is a plus
A proven track record creating dimensional, normalized and hybrid models for business intelligence projects.
Knowledge of physical database implementation for SQL databases including partitions, indexes, materialized views, etc.
Proven ability to present complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior decision-makers.
