Build an app or website - data collection and visualization
First: I dont know the best way to collect and display the data that will be generated through this project. Should this be website-based? Or phone/app-based? Part of the project is to help me decide what is best. In brief, I want to be able to collect information (~10 fields) from people across the U.S. (potentially the world) and display the information graphically on the web.
Anyone (not sure if account is needed?) would be able to enter data into a form (~10 fields). Example: How many pieces of x were created on a particular date or time frame (week?). x would be a drop-down/selectable field of ~5-10 possible items. We would collect location information (zip code).
Display Example A: how many of x were created in zip code y by #people z - displayed on a map - with x and y being selectable by the viewer.
Display Example B: how many of x were created in zip code y and mailed to zip code w?
Im estimating that Id want to have, at the end of the project, about 10 display options.
The finished project would be a completed data collection and display tool, established on the appropriate web-based platform. I would pay for the website.
Ideally, once the framework is established, I would be able to change/add the queries myself.
OR: if this is something that I could do myself, I would be interested in someone walking me through what I would need to learn/do to make this happen.
