Java Developer

Profile

The successful candidate will be part of the Derivatives IT department and will work very closely with the Front Office in order to build software primarily for the Convertibles business but also derivatives businesses (which are global in nature). The environment is highly dynamic so flexibility is a basic requirement. This is both in terms of technology used and day-to-day duties. Derivatives IT uses technology to strategic advantage; the company hires only highly skilled candidates who can work with a minimum of direction and oversight. You should expect to be challenged every day.
Business Experience / Qualifications:
Outstanding communication skills.
Outstanding analytical/problem solving skills.
Technical Requirements:
Strong computer science experience, including full systems development life-cycle.
Development Experience: OO-development with Java.
SQL/RDBMS Experience
Soft Technical Requirements:
Development with scripting language: Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.
Strong Plus:
Web development experience: X/D/HTML, XML, Javascript
Experience working in a front office environment interacting directly with traders & salespeople.
Knowledge of fixed income & derivatives products (credit, equity).
Plus:
C experience
TIBCO Rendezvous
JMS and other J2EE technologies
JBOSS
Sybase ASE experience
Python
Django
Demonstrated architecting of multi-tier, distributed systems.
Experience with Java Swing
Shell-scripting
