We are seeking an Automated Software Test Engineer
to join the Master Data Management (MDM) Development team. The individual must be comfortable working as part of a collaborative team as well as independently. The candidate should have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn about our systems.
The MDM Team is responsible for the development and delivery of master data systems that support our branch network. You will work in a demanding and exciting environment that is creative, detail oriented, and absolutely pertinent to the success and strength of the company.
This position will use Microsoft Coded UI, Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010, and Microsoft Unit Test to automate system regression testing and unit testing of client/server and service-based applications in a collaborative environment. The main responsibilities will include all phases of the automation test effort: test planning, test case development, actual scripting of tests, test execution, along with test environment setup and test data maintenance.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain UI Regression tests with Microsoft Coded UI
Develop and maintain Service Regression tests with Microsoft Unit Test
Execute automated regression tests during build cycles and report test status to team
Log and track application issues in TFS
Debug application solutions for failing unit tests
Plan testing approach and schedule
Develop and maintain automated data validation tests
Drive team standards and process around automated regression and continuous integration
Required Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in IT as a Test Engineer or Developer
Experience with automated software test tools, object-oriented development, and Microsoft SQL Server
Working knowledge of C# or VB.net with .Net 3.5 or greater
Experience writing automated test scripts, preferably using Microsoft Coded UI
Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures
The desire to keep moving forward and to strive to stay on top of emerging trends within the software industry
Strong desire to work on a close-knit team with very aggressive goals
Must be a self-starter and be able to work under minimal supervision
Must be an adept problem solver that goes beyond the obvious and will take the initiative to navigate around obstacles and challenges
Excellent problem solving skills
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Experience or willingness to work in an Agile development environment, e.g. Scrum or Kanban
Preferred to have some cross-functional experience in the following areas: analysis, testing, and collaboration with developers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft TFS 2010
Experience with transportation or logistics information systems
Required Education
Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science/software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
