Summer 2023 State and Local Tax Internship
The intern will gain hands-on experience in state and local taxation. Maintain and expand the knowledge base in the multi-state tax area by working on various projects including, conducting research and preparing memorandum on SALT issues (for individuals, corporations, and flow-through entities), assisting in M&A due diligence, voluntary disclosure programs, and various compliance matters. Projects involving sales and use taxes, realty transfer taxes, income / franchise taxes, gross receipts taxes, real and personal property taxes, excise taxes, taxes imposed on local level, and unclaimed property. Assist with addressing issues and questions for internal clients and potential prospects. Participate in intern orientation, technical training and development program designed to provide the tools needed to contribute to client engagements, On-the-job training through real work engagements, showcasing how academic experience translates to the professional environment. Learn directly from experienced associates, seniors, managers and partners with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous industries and services. Build friendships and strong work relationships while gaining valuable experience.
