Content Data Platform, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s television metadata platform, is looking for a stellar DevOps-minded Software Engineer! You'll be helping to maintain and augment our Kubernetes infrastructure and tooling on our international data platform. You're a great fit if you have passion for writing cloud-native software, can independently dig deep into problem solving with cutting-edge technology, love to own the projects you work on, and are a team-player with excellent communication skills. You will be the sought-after technical guru for the platform in the long run, responsible for molding the team's future strategies and aligning them with the Company's product vision.

Job Description

You'll Be Responsible For:


Leading a high performing, multi-talented engineering team comprising of dev-ops specialists and architects

Maintaining and evolving a multi-datacenter AWS and on-prem based Kubernetes installation.

Building & evolving operational visibility tools and deployment processes.

Documenting what you're building for other team members.

Collaborating with developers to help enhance the reliability and performance of our services.

Providing technical guidance & leadership to fellow team members, and mentoring team members inside and outside of direct team

Representing the platform within larger org and company

Model use of best practices across team and proactively drive to improve them

Helping to maintain our Terraform and Ansible repositories

Technical project management, breaking complex projects into smaller technical deliverables and coordinates assigning these units to team members by creating/assigning stories being mindful of team capacity and overall deliverables


Employees at all levels are expected to:


A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with 15 years professional experience.

Software development experience with an interest in using that experience to solve distributed systems problems.

Experience with a major cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, Azure - preferably AWS.

Experience with at least one of these languages: Java, Python, Go, Ruby.

Linux system administration experience (e.g. RedHat / CentOS).

Deeply knowledgeable of technology stack and takes ownership & accountability of code base

Experience with AWS cost optimization

Experience in using CI/CD tools preferably Maven, Jenkins, git, Concourse or similar tools.

Experience working with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef.

Understanding of protocols and data formats like HTTP, JDBC, Mongo wire protocol, Protocol Buffers, JSON, YAML.

Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, Docker, Redis, MongoDB.

Experience with application clustering, load balancing, high availability, and reliability concepts and supporting technologies.

Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or the ELK Stack.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Some level of participation in an on-call escalation path.

A desire for providing excellent service to all internal and external customers; and a deep passion for constant learning and sharing knowledge with the immediate & extended teams.

Mentor team members inside and outside of direct org

Guides the successful completion of high profile, revenue impacting programs. Serves as a leader across multiple teams for specific technologies and/or areas of research.

Establish yourself as an expert for the Merlin platform.

Design and lead cross-crew projects that drive key substantial business and technical initiatives across the organization

Exert broad cross-organizational influence without requiring reporting authority to do so

Ensure use of best practices across organization and drive to improve them. Own long-term technical strategy for the platform

Build relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners for projects you are responsible for

Drive cross-organization work by helping disparate teams converge on decisions and owning those decisions to ensure the necessary impact
