Job Details:
SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible to prepare and examine financial records, ensure that records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time, and to assist the controller in the needs of the accounting department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Take ownership of the organizations report of costs, productivity, margins and expenditures.
Assist with preparation of monthly estimates and financial statements
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Assist with quarterly corporate reporting schedules and audit requests
Prepare various ad hoc reports for management
Prepare journal entries for monthly closing process
Maintain accurate inventory counts and balances
Prepare local tax returns
Complete balance sheet reconciliations
Research and resolve reconciling items
Provide guidance to accounts payable and receivable clerical staff
Research and reconcile intercompany transactions
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
Provide expertise as needed to executive team in order to forecast and navigate trends
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree: Accounting or business administration or related filed
Three or more years of accounting experience
Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Self-starter capable of completing multiple projects within tight deadlines
Critical thinking and problem solving
Knowledge in financial computer software
Advanced computer skills in MS office
Excellent organizational, problem solving, project management and communication skills
