About this role:

Gartner has exciting career opportunities for a Project Manager within Information Technology at our Fort Myers, FL office. The successful candidates will join Gartner’s Finance Technology department and work alongside a team of Project Managers in a critical role to lead IT initiatives, deliver portfolio projects and support ongoing corporate services.

This role is accountable for supporting ongoing Variable Compensation initiatives and systems, Finance Portfolio initiatives and Corporate Services such as Legal, FP&A, etc. This role is accountable for roadmap management and quality delivery of large, complex projects to include scope, budget, and stakeholder management toward business value realization. This role leads primarily Agile and/or Hybrid teams to ensure projects are planned and executed consistently with company strategy, commitments, goals, and standards.

What you’ll do:


Organize and lead project teams throughout the project life cycle.
Analyze and rationalize requirements to determine agreed, achievable project objectives that align to organizational goals, strategies, and objectives.
Understand the strategic direction of the business to ensure that new features and functions are implemented to conform to stated strategies and business needs.
Partner with Product, Technology and Business Owners to define release plans, grooming and prioritizing backlog.
Drive core project communications including communications plan, status reporting, executive updates, and ad hoc presentations.
Lead and manage teams associated with complex projects of varying types and sizes, applying the appropriate project management principles, techniques, and methodologies (Agile, Iterative, Scrum, Waterfall) tailored to the individual project to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Practice data driven decision making, improve reporting and identify, evaluate, and proactively propose process improvement activities.
Conduct project team and stakeholder meetings, appropriately elevating issues of scope, schedule, cost, and customization for executive-level review and disposition.
Lead and coach team in agile practices and influence changes that sustainably increase team productivity.
Identify issues with impact beyond project; resolve issues working with teams across projects.


What you’ll need:


BS/BA in computer science, information systems or equivalent working experience.
3 - 5 years of experience in a role that required IT Project Management Skills.
3 - 5 years of experience in executing projects with Agile Methodology.
Strong business acumen and leadership experience - proven track record of acting as a valued IT business partner.
Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact, and develop resolution options.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with an ability to quickly build credibility to influence recommendations to technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
Experience working virtually with global teams, particularly with team members in India, is strongly preferred.
Critical thinking with excellent judgment and initiative.
Desire and aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines across multiple project deliverables.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Jira, Confluence.
PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certifications preferred.
