Senior Associate Director Gift Planning
The candidate will promote, solicits, facilitates, documents, and stewards planned gifts. Will prepare descriptive explanations of planned giving arrangements and quantitative proposals and projections related to them for donors, potential donors, and professional advisors. Maintain expert knowledge of specific charitable giving vehicles. Manage and implement strategic plans. Reviews plans, meets with leadership and key faculty and staff, and recommends changes and improvements to better meet organizational, client and donor needs and objectives. Translates goals into action plans and executes. Involves high level of collaboration with both internal department and broader University partners to identify common goals and develop and execute strategies to increase integration. Please bullet examples of key partnerships and work involved below: Work with centralized major gift officers on planned gift proposals. Work with school and program gift officers on donor proposals. Partner with gift planning staff on various projects and strategies. May work with non-ARD colleagues on specific projects assigned by gift planning team leadership. Manages portfolio of approximately 50 complex planned giving donors and potential donors which includes developing and executing a strategy for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship that results in advancing the relationship with a donor. Involves University leaders and other development officers. Leads appropriate stewardship for planned gift donors in coordination with the donor relations and gift planning stewardship teams. Develops and maintains significant expertise in the area of planned giving, including tax and estate planning issues. Assures that gifts are in compliance with internal policies and all applicable laws. Records and reports on all contacts, proposals, and strategies in development database. May facilitate trainings on technical aspects of gift planning to frontline fundraisers. May draft technical explanations for fundraisers and/or donors.
