Job Summary:
The Judge Group is seeking a candidate that is responsible for the architecture, design, development, documentation, and testing of the electrical systems or subsystems for new and existing products.
Daily activities, but not limited to:
Analyze technical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Works with other engineering staff and scientists to evaluate the mechanical, operational and performance requirements of overall system.
Performing periodic system design reviews
Mentoring other members of the technical staff on good engineering development practices.
Direct the day-to-day activities of other engineering staff in support of their overall product development responsibilities.
Requirements:
BS or higher degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
10 years’ experience in electrical engineering
Proven experience serving as lead engineer on medium to large product development projects from concept through release to production.
Provide technical expertise coupled with proven leadership skills in the fields of Electrical Engineering, DFM and Lean Design.
Proven experience in the design and development of digital & analog circuits using current best practices and technologies.
Proficiency in engineering computer tools used for design, analysis, verification, and configuration management.
Expected to be able to provide guidance to junior members of engineering staff and technical insight to all levels of engineering and management.
Conduct in-depth quantitative analyses of design performance for proposed and developing designs using hand and computer aided methods
Make technical recommendations/decisions on projects and develop engineering statements or work and cost and manpower estimates for proposed projects
Lead the development and presentation of technical design reviews
Ensuring assigned engineering work is completed on time and on budget
Report technical and programmatic status to program, functional, and executive management
Validating system-level electrical performance and design requirements
Allocating electrical performance and design requirements to subsystems and components
Synthesizing subsystem performance characteristics and confirming acceptable overall system performance or resolving any shortfalls
Managing system electrical requirements and evaluating and mitigating system risks
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good organizational skills being able to multitask on multiple development projects
Qualifications:
Direct experience with the design and implementation of analytical instruments based on such chemical detection technologies as Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS), Differential Mobility Spectrometry (DMS), and Mass Spectrometry (MS).
Extensive embedded system design
Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability
Hardware Design, Components Placement, PCB Lay-out, PCB Stack-up, PCB Artwork, and Assembly Drawing
5 years minimum experience with electronics CAD such as Altium
Proficiency in engineering computer tools used for design analysis and verification required
