JOB DESCRIPTION
The Data Mining Engineer will be responsible for developing the next generation of BI, Analytics and data mining solutions. The candidate will have used / implemented new technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL DB, Multi-variate experimentation, pattern matching, machine learning, NLP, statistical models to derive BI from operational data. He/She would have worked on deploying analytical/predictive models, making them operational by working closely with the analytics, DW and BI delivery teams. The right candidate will have experience in delivering projects from start to finish and be intimately familiar with software development lifecycle / Agile methodologies. This position requires out-of-box thinking with a creative and research oriented mind set.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Data Mining/R&D Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
· Work with other teams in understanding business needs and designing DW solutions that will help expose BI to the stakeholders
· Architect / Implement advanced ETL-ELT programs on Big Data using CDC to refresh / furnish data in near real-time
· Write ELT-ETL programs to source / cleanse / mine data from a variety of SQL / NO-SQL data repositories
· Be creative in proposing new design & architecture for mining / sourcing / cleansing data
· Ensure DW integration with upstream & downstream systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience is Data Warehouse development is required. Specialization in Computer Science is preferred.
· 5 years of experience in ETL-ELT work using Oracle 10g-11g/ Teradata/Informatica/OWB
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in C / Java / Unix Shell scripting
· Understanding of Relational databases and data warehousing concepts including CDC
· Mastery in Oracle PL/SQL and in creating PL/SQL packages
· Some experience in Hadoop / Map-Reduce technologies is a plus
· Experience with one or more enterprise level data reporting tools/business intelligence tools
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Possesses a sense of urgency with ability to stay focused on goals and objectives
· Work with competing priorities and manage multiple tasks
· Work on self-directed activities with minimal supervision
· Excellent inter-personal communication and writing skills
· Proficiency in MS Office products particularly Visio, Excel & MS Project
