Staff Attorney
The candidate will represent residents in clinical review panel appeals, facilitate clients with obtaining benefits/entitlements, and will provide legal assistance in resident grievance claims. Will also be responsible for identifying residents who may have legal problems, but may not be able to request assistance due to their disabilities. Assist patients with general civil claims by making referrals to pro bono legal services providers. Expected to handle all functions related to case work from initial intake through representation of clients before all relevant agencies, courts, etc. Expected to work with other attorneys, law graduates, legal assistants/paralegals, social workers, and students on cases or projects. Expected to perform outreach activities and to participate in internal and external legal committees and bar associations.
