The Web Application Developer is a highly motivated .NET web application development specialist with previous experience in developing and maintaining web applications. The Web Application Developer’s primary responsibility will be to customize Aptean’s Sitecore CMS application suite and other public-facing web sites as required. The Web Application Developer understands the strategies and objectives of the global marketing organization (from SEO to lead capture) and ensures the Web site is effectively supporting those strategies and objectives. The Web Application Developer has direct impact on Aptean’s New System Sales and Installed Base Sales marketing metrics and sales pipeline.
Duties include:
Design, develop, test, and maintain custom corporate web site templates using Sitecore CMS and Adobe Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Develop site navigation, maintain site integrity and develop and maintain web site database.
Create and deploy new corporate sub-sites and localized international sites as required.
Analyze processes being used in various business applications throughout the organization and making recommendations for implementation.
Research and implement applications that seamlessly integrate with the Sitecore CMS application.
Design and implement application test procedures and write technical documentation when required.
Day-to-day operational Sitecore application support.
Work closely with content owners and IT regarding site design, testing and deployment.
Create end-user documentation and provide end-user training.
Responsible for maintaining eservices, epartner and Sharepoint sites.
Serve as marketing liaison with the company’s IT department to resolve Internet-related issues such as hardware maintenance, accessibility, system reliability, etc. through the use of Tri-Active.
Serve as marketing liaison for all web site requests.
Requirements and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in applicable Major
At least two of content management server administration and/or web development experience
2 years of demonstrated work experience with Microsoft .NET technologies
Development for marketing or previous experience in marketing a plus
Experience in Sitecore
Outstanding web portfolio demonstrating understanding of web standards, CSS best practices, and accessibility (mobile devices)
Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, XML/XSL, XHTML, Web Services, (AJAX an asset)
Extensive experience with IIS, MS SQL
Fundamental knowledge of JavaScript
Current knowledge of SEO theory as well as fundamental knowledge of traditional marketing objectives and tactics
Software design, relational database fundamentals and modeling, database design methodologies and SQL programming experience
Experience with customization of applications that use either Pivotal technology or other 3-tier technology is preferred. You also have a good working knowledge of hardware, networking and the implications of multi-user systems.
Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint in either administration or customization would be an asset
Experience managing enterprise level websites
Ability to train non-technical staff
Ability to work with managers in different geographies
Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills
Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Team player; and excellent written and verbal communication skills
You will be expected to be comfortable working as part of a team or on individual projects.
