Our team is looking for a Senior Designer with the talent to create elegant design solutions, the skills to participate throughout the product development process, and the passion to help us create innovative experiences for our users. Our team is fast and agile and you’ll see the direct impact of your work on revenue. You'll work closely with the art director, business owners, product management, SEO, engineering, and marketing teams during the entire product lifecycle from concept through post-launch support. In addition to eHow, you will also be part of our larger creative team and culture here at Demand Media.
This is an active hands-on role that requires a designer who can solve visual and interaction design challenges; articulate and pitch their ideas to team members, take design direction, and inspire other designers on the team. You will help to define and design the user experience across a variety of editorial, content, and ecommerce initiatives for our desktop, mobile web, and app products.
Responsibilities:
Produce innovative yet intuitive design solutions that address complex consumer, editorial, and marketing needs.
Create rapidly developing pixel-accurate visual mockups.
Drive site enhancements and ideas, based on industry best practices and emerging trends.
Work closely with the Engineering and QA teams to support UX implementation efforts.
Develop and work with style guides to ensure consistency throughout site and brand.
Create mockups and assets for user testing across our web experience.
Q&A UX design support, which includes eHow Community and Experts products
Responsive email campaign designs
Ad sales and social media design support
Qualifications:
5 years of designing consumer focused, media rich web UX.
BFA or BA degree in design related studies.
Expert-level proficiency in Photoshop. Advanced level skills in Illustrator.
Previous experience with mobile web design and responsive layouts
Strategic, independent, and self-motivated creative professional
Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of web trends and technologies.
Flexibility when incorporating design suggestions and critiques. Willingness to learn new things a must.
iOS experience a plus
Online portfolio is required.
Nice to Haves:
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS driven layouts.
