Compliance Officer
The candidate will support and ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations for all areas of the company. Analyzes new and pending laws that could directly affect the current practices. Develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensure all affected areas of the company are kept informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time. Monitor and implement a risk-based compliance program. Perform compliance reviews in accordance with established laws, rules, regulations, practices, and the compliance review schedule. Monitor and analyze existing, new, and pending regulatory laws, rules and regulations which affect the current operations. Produce recommendations to the above as required. Develop an enterprise compliance self-assessment protocol. Develop and periodically review and update policies, procedures, forms, and disclosures to ensure continued compliance. Maintain knowledge of regulatory and compliance-related issues by networking with peers, reviewing changes through multiple compliance resources and attending relevant educational opportunities. May be directed to interact with third party subject matter experts and/or other credit unions to ensure accurate and complete interpretation of applicable law, rules, and regulation. Support the Chief Risk Officer in the implementation of compliance-related strategy, projects and training. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on teams, projects, and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Review compliance training programs and monitor for completion. Act as the subject matter expert and an information and interpretive resource regarding compliance and perform compliance research as needed. Assist all areas of the organization by providing guidance with compliance issues and questions. Educate partners on compliance trends and topics. Review marketing pieces and public-facing documents and forums such as the website and chat functions to ensure compliance in all areas. Participate in audits and assessments as applicable. Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
