The Who, What, Why and Where
Hatch is a 6-month apprenticeship program at Twilio that aims to equip individuals having non-traditional technical backgrounds with industry experience in designing, developing and delivering production-ready software systems. We encourage anyone from an underrepresented group in tech to apply for this position. This includes, but is not limited to, women and non-binary individuals, people of color, LGBTQIA individuals, people with disabilities and veterans. The next cohort is currently slated to start in late November 2020.
This position will be based in Denver, CO. Our offices are currently closed till further notice so we are planning for most of the apprenticeship to be run remotely. Once city and state COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, the position will be based out of our office at
1801 California Street
address in Denver.
Relocation assistance will not be provided at this time.
Who?
Twilio is looking for apprentices who live
the Twilio Magic
and have a demonstrated track record of learning, growth, impact, and success. Ideal candidates
Technical proficiency via a coding bootcamp, online certification or equivalent
Proficiency in at least one coding language and backend/UI framework
Experience with web applications, REST APIs and datastores
Willingness to learn Java, Scala, PHP, JS, Go or Python
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Test driven development discipline

DRAW THE OWL: Participate in product and architecture reviews to determine project deliverables
RUTHLESSLY PRIORITIZE: Commit to, scope out and timebox tickets to deliver at a predictable cadence
EMPOWER OTHERS: Contribute to regular team meetings to plan work on an ongoing basis
WRITE IT DOWN: Give and receive constructive feedback as part of peer code reviews
