Mid-Level Personal Injury Associate
The candidate will assist Senior Attorney in settling claims and prosecuting lawsuits in personal injury matters. Prepares and prosecutes civil lawsuits, draws up legal documents, propounds discovery and assists the clients in responding to discovery, advises clients in their personal injury claims. Gathers evidence in civil cases to initiate and to prosecute claims and legal action. Conducts research, interviews clients, and witnesses and handles other details in preparation for trial. Prepares legal briefs, develops strategy, arguments and testimony in preparation for presentation of case. Files brief with court clerk. Represents client in court at court conferences and at trial. Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses. Confers with colleagues with specialty in area of lawsuit to establish and verify basis for legal proceedings. Drafts Complaints, Answers, Demurrers, Motions, Oppositions to Motions, discovery documents. Communicates well with clients. Represents clients in depositions and in mediation. Assists Senior Attorney occasionally when trial preparation is needed.
