Director - Legal Affairs and Risk Management
The candidate will provide legal and regulatory advice or consultation on various University matters, including review and recommendation on University policies, procedures, guidelines and other documents. Provide contract administration oversight for the University, including drafting, reviewing, and/or approving contracts and other legal documents as directed by University management. Develop and maintain the University policy library. Provide guidance and assistance to the Provost Office for faculty and student related regulatory and compliance matters, as required. Provide guidance and assistance to the Human Resources department regarding employment related matters, including employment agreements, accommodation requests, and compliance matters, as required. Oversee the legal aspects of real estate transactions, construction contracts, and other corporate transactions related to business operations. Facilitate execution of debt issuance and ongoing compliance with debt agreements. Oversee risk management and compliance initiatives for the University by working with key stakeholders. Provide training and programs on legal issues to reduce litigation risks and liability Manage the use of outside legal counsel. Maintain awareness of current laws, statutes, regulations that impact the operations of the University.
