Job Description Summary:

The expectations of this position are to lead and direct a Research testing TEAM to deliver accurate data to meet Cobb product objectives (Includes Hatchery, Broiler, and Breeder Research). The essential functions of this position are as follows: Hire and develop qualified team members; develop good employee relations; develop and maintain employee and operations schedules; operate within capital and operational budget guidelines; manage trials in accordance with protocols (includes working with outside facilities and trial sponsors to fulfill project objectives) ; compile and analyze Hatchery/Broiler/Breeder performance data; maintain facility and equipment; achieve compliance with regulatory agencies; achieve a culture of safety; achieve a culture of Bio-Security and Animal Welfare . Responsible for supervising a team of hourly team members; including mentoring exempt team members, providing training to non-exempt team members, monitoring work quality, coaching team members on performance, and monitoring time and attendance; responsible for the quality of results produced by the team; responsible for the upkeep and operation of the facility including the office, hatchery, poultry houses, and all other facilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: College degree or equivalent experience with limited experience.

Experience: 2 plus years of progressive poultry experience. Experience within Hatchery, Live Production, Facility Management preferred.

Computer Skills: : Standard skills are required. This position requires in working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications.

Travel: Minimal domestic trips

Supervisory: A team of approximately 9 plus hourly team members.

Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry; must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens ducks and birds . The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times; must be willing to follow the guidelines in all Cobb Farm Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.

Physical Requirements: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to touch handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: When visiting facilities is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment. (May be required to pass certification for use of Full-Face Respirator)
