Description

The Health Educator instructs and coach's groups or individuals on health conditions. The Health Educator work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Health Educator demonstrates excellent public speaking techniques and is skilled at facilitating various health topics. The goal of which is to help attendees want to improve their well-being through additional motivational coaching techniques as needed. Makes decisions in line with job training regarding work, requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications


Bachelors in Health, Health Education, Nursing, Social Work, Education, or related field
More than 5 years' experience in effective delivery of Healthcare Education and/or Wellness programs (preferably with seniors)
Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking and presentations skills
Previous experience in teaching, training, mentoring or facilitating
Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills
Collaborate with various levels of the organization internally and community
Strong technical knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


CHES certification, or the ability to obtain certification, based upon relevant education
Bi-lingual English and Spanish (Fluent in both)
