A Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer is a highly-skilled electrical engineering professional who designs and guides embedded micro controller projects for safety-critical applications. This person acts as a hands-on technical lead to ensure one or several engineering projects are completed successfully and with the proper product documentation.
This position is responsible for detailed functional, component and board-level design throughout the New Product Development life-cycle. This position will work on new product development as well as sustaining engineering. The successful candidate is expected to conduct his/her job responsibilities with a high degree of urgency, professionalism and personal accountability.
The duties include but are not limited to:
Define and execute written system level specifications and requirements
Develop multi-processor architectures to support RTOS-based embedded applications
Develop schematic board layouts
Develop technical design and testing documentation
Troubleshoot new and legacy designs
Work closely with software developers as part of an integrated team
Develop and present materials for design reviews
Participate in cross-functional product development teams
Ability to work as part of a global engineering team.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Minimum BSEE from an accredited engineering college or university
Minimum 7 years of experience in embedded systems hardware design field
Proven experience with low level analog circuit design
Proven experience with digital hardware design utilizing microcontrollers
Proven experience with low level industrial communication interfaces
Demonstrated ability to own and support a product from requirements through manufacturing
Able to work independently or in team environments
Able to generate time and deliverable projections based on defined scope of work
Able to commit to and work under deadlines
Productive working in a formal product development team environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Some domestic and international travel required.
EDUCATION:
Minimum BSEE from an accredited engineering college or university.
