Bering Straits Orion Management (BSOM) is seeking a Justice Advisor V
to provide broad range of advice and technical assistance on criminal justice issues to senior officials.
This one-year assignment (with option to extend) will be in various overseas locations (as determined by the U.S. Government). This job WILL NOT be filled for at least 3-6 months and is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Serve as the Chief of Team for large and complex justice issues to senior officials.
Function at the senor executive level and set overall mission direction.
Liaise regularly with the United States Government, Senior Host Government officials, and international actors.
Preform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Must be licensed to practice law.
Must have at least twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in criminal law practice, or at least five years criminal trail experience, combined with seven years experience implementing international rule of law programs for which at least four years shall have been overseas.
Must have a least seven (7) years supervisory and management experience.
Must possess excellent writing and verbal communications skills.
Must possess excellent analytical skills.
Must demonstrate visionary skills.
Must possess the ability to form strong partnerships in a diverse culture.
Must be willing to travel internationally, particularly to developing countries as well as training sites in the US for short periods.
Must be able to work in an environment with frequent shifts in priorities on a day-today- basis.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Must be able to pass company background investigation.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be eligible for SECRET security clearance.
Must be able to pass a physical exam and an agility test as determined by the employing agency for the job category, as well as a medical and psychiatric exam.
Must pass a nine-panel drug test or THC, Cocaine, PCP ( Phencyclidine), Opiates, Methamphetamine, Methadone, Amphetamine, Barbiturates, and Benzodiazepines.
Must have or be able to obtain a current U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one prior to deployment.
Must have or be able to obtain license to operate a standard transmission 4x4 vehicle.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in a multicultural environment.
At least two (2) years experience in senior level (Chief of Party) positions (Level IV equivalent) on international rule of law assistance missions.
Proficiency in one or more of the following languages is desirable but not required: Arabic, Kurdish, Albanian, Turkish, French/Creole, Spanish, Pashto, Farsi, Dari.
